The Polar Bear Childrens` Club

Children´s dreams become true. In June 2006, the Polar Bear Childrens`Club moved into its very own villa.

Three floors with different worlds of experience surrounded by a garden with swings and a sandpit on the premises are available to young hotel guests from now on.

In the Polar Bear Childrens` Club of the Kempinski Grand Hotel Heiligendamm, children of three age categories are taken care of free of charge:

Mini Polar Bears:  3-6 years
Maxi Polar Bears: 7-12 years
Teen Polar Bears: aged 13 plus

The Club is open daily between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Splash time for children
It's "splash time" for children up to 12 years accompanied by an adult from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. and from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. daily. Pool noodles and water balls are available. A host is also present. Please note that the rest of the time the pool is a resting place.
The sauna area in the basement of the Severin Palais is open for our guests from 14 years.

Both younger and older children will be looked after by trained kindergarden teachers and educators.
For babies there will be also a crawling room. Sven Huckenbeck, Director of SPA & Sports: ‘We offer treatments with products by bellybutton, a line that is especially designed for the care for mothers and babies. While mom takes some time out to relax at the Heiligendamm SPA, her kids will be looked after by us in the crawling room.’

The Kids Villa
All rooms of the kids villa are decorated with enchanting murals, accurate to detail. The corresponding interior furnishing, which was chosen with loving care, completes the overall conception.

The Ground Floor
The youngest between ages three and six will experience Mogli-like adventures in the ‘jungle’ on the ground floor. African furniture and murals featuring wild animals will trigger the desire for adventure, and in the Room of Dreams with its spacious area to lie under a starry sky, children and their parents can relax while reading, or being read to, respectively.

The First Floor
Rough-and-ready cowboys and fearless Indians between six and twelve years of age will find their appropriate environment one floor up at the ‘Western City’, complete with numerous log huts for playing. The Wild West comes alive among the Grand Opera House with a choice of costumes, the Saloon, and Sheriff’s Office.

From here, the children race down a tubular slide into the garden.

The Attic
The eldest Polar Bears will find their realm in the attic of the villa: Infinite space awaits them in the highly imaginative ‘space shuttle’. PlayStations with the latest video games, trendy Captain Kirk’s chairs, and a cinema with a screen that is 3 metres wide along with relaxing platforms that you can lie on will make teenagers’ hearts beat faster. Bookworms will be welcome to use the library under the roof that offers a selection of the most popular children’s books and comfortable reading chairs.
